Our Founder

Background:
Brenda Dever-Armstrong, CEO and Owner of The Next Horizon. Senior/Military Locators/Resources, has 19 years experience in the field of: residential care homes, home health care and housing referral for disabled veterans. Proud to be a military wife of 29 years living overseas and stateside developing pilot programs and activities for senior living communities and government programs. Public affairs and liaison for government programs with 32 years experience.

Appointed by Governor Perry, State of Texas, (September 2010) to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council along with a 17-member council to a four year term. The purpose of the Statewide Health Coordinating Council is to ensure health care services and facilities are available to all Texans through health planning activities.

Girl Talk Texas is a Saturday morning program that discusses issues that are important to Women...Women talking to Women (men are invited!). We cover topics for the Stay At Home Mom (Raising children today), Professioinal Women in Business, Women going back into the Workforce, Senior and Military families concerns on housing, healthcare, medical treatments, Professionals covering types of insurances such as: Medicare/Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, Supplemental Insurance, Legal Advisors (Power of Attorney - different types), Diseases and Treatments: Alzheimer/Dementia/Parkinson/Autism, and covering political and educational issues. This is a talk show providing information and resources in the communities. We encourage our listneers to Call in and ask questions or give us their opinion. KSLR 630 AM covers areas from Laredo, Corpus Christi, San Angelo, San Antonio, Austin and Waco.
